I apologize for the lack of posts. It’s not like I haven’t been wracking my brain everyday thinking of something I could write about and constantly coming up with nothing. There’s not much going on in my life that I could discuss, I barely write fiction anymore so I can’t talk about that. In pop culture all of the interesting things that have happened the past few weeks are things I’ve already discussed. Chris Brown was in the news and everyone knows how I feel about him, I’m sick of writing about him and defending him. Other writers have done it much better. Britney Spears new album came out this week and she gave an awful performance on Good Morning America that just broke my heart. But I already wrote a post about how she can’t dance.
So I will write about the random things I’m in to and not so in to right now.
Of course Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E album has been in heavy rotation both on my iPod and in my car. It’s probably his best album, the standout track being “She Ain’t You” which samples “Human Nature” by Michael Jackson. But I’m not writing about Breezy.
I jumped for joy when I heard that Fringe has been picked up for a fourth season. It’s my favorite show on TV and pretty much the only scripted show I watch. I would have been devastated if it was canceled.
For some reason I really like this video.
I’ve barely written fiction in 2011 and I barely read any good fiction, which is so unlike me. A few weeks ago I hit up the bookstore and dropped some money on some black fiction. The first one I decided to read was “How Stella Got Her Groove Back” which I have never read. I love some of Terry McMillan’s stuff, but I absolutely hate this book. I’m struggling to get through it. It’s so disappointing, cause it’s sort of a classic from the 90’s. I’m not having great luck with good books this year!
It’s confirmed that I’m going to Washington DC at the end of April with some friends. It should be a good time. If anyone knows any DC hot spots we should hit up, let me know.
I will try so hard to post more often, but I need topics. Hopefully there will be more to come!
